NEW SPANISH GENETIC EVALUATIONS, JANUARY 2007

Aberekin veterans remain consistent breed leaders ( EMIR, DUPLEX, DANDY, AUDI, ALMERIA) and Aberekin newcomer (BONUS) make a splash on the list following the January 2007 sire summary.

      EMIR (Emerson * Qg Elonka VG-86 * Delta Eugenie VG-88 * Delta Esmeralda VG-86)) adding 41 daughters to his proof and increasing his lead as the number one  ICO (Composite Index) in Aberekin list. Now with 117 daughters in 91 herds. EMIR is the sire bound to meet breeders´ high expectations for milk and type. EMIR sires tall, open, ribbed cows with exceptional bone quality. He is a feet&leg improver. He transmits a lot of milk with high fat and protein components and excels in all mammary traits. Daughters track very well. A great combination of Type and Production.       DUPLEX (Durham * Emory Emerald EX-90) He is a Durham from Henkessen M Hillary EX94-2E GMD DOM daughter, EMERALD EX90.

412 daughters in 343 herds. DUPLEX picked up 110 kg. on milk to +968 kg. and +0.13 points on F&L until +2.81. He has the ability to stamp his daughters with strength, power and openness of ribs. In addition, daughters walk uphill and exhibit a hard top line. Breeders who have used Duplex in their herd are delighted with the results. Duplex is a very popular bull, producing striking cows with large dairy frames. The daughters are very stylish, long-bodied cows that exhibit powerful front ends and added chest width. They are clean boned and exhibit tremendous udder texture, teat shape and placement. DUPLEX daughters are generally much better than their dams and are often the tallest and milkiest young cows in the herd.

      BONUS (Bond * Rudolph Dorothy VG-86 * Geoffry Dallas VG-86 * Leadman Doris EX-91) Son from the DELLIA family who made his debut in July 2006, picked up on production and conformation on 124 daughters after adding 52 more daughters. He transmits very high fat and protein components. BONUS sires open, ribbed cows with exceptional bone quality, very good feet&legs (+2,94) and high and wide rear udders.  In addition he is an easy calving bull, excelling in Somatic Cell Score and Longevity. This combination for long-lasting cows will make BONUS an extremely popular choice for any type of housing system.

      AUDI ( Aaron * New-Way Patron Allie VG-88) 319 daughtes/148 herds. As his daughters are into their second, third and fourth lactations, Audi maintains a strong presence. Superb foot traits and snugly attached udders with incredible texture, he is the highest ranking of the "udder-bulls" (+3,20). His daughters´ udders are the best part. The fore udders are long and well attached. High wide rear udders. This is an exceptional udder bull. Daughters exhibit, wide rear udders, with an exceptional central support. DANDY (Durham * Leadman Tracy EX-91 * Tury EX-92 * Tory EX-94) increases the number of daughters with 185 daughters /130 herds. He is a Durham son of the famous "Wilsondale Leadman Tracy" EX-91.
The next dam is an EX-92 Blackstar followed by an EX-94 Valiant.

DANDY is one of the top bulls for udder (+2,55), he is +2,29 for feet and legs, and his daughters have high, wide rear udders, with an exceptional central support. There is a noticeable difference between the first and second lactation daughters of Dandy.  The first lactation daughters are not deep bodied cows, their fore rib is shallow and the rear rib lacks sweep.  The first lactation Dandy daughters have long bodies that would indicate that they would grow and deepen as they mature.  The second lactation Dandy daughters have good depth of rib and have matured well.
